I really can’t stand all the people out there willing to push a “product” to those seeking honest training to start an online business. When anyone truly can learn to make money online, no scams should be able to survive.

Sadly, they do.

Paradise
A promise to be here next week? Not likely.

A flashy sales video and promises of vacations in paradise at the drop of a hat are hard to pass up. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to be able to push a couple buttons, turn their computer off, then fly off to a sandy beach and grab a margarita? Sounds like Heaven, right?

The only problem is that it doesn’t work that way.

How To Spot A Work From Home Scam

Have you ever seen the sales pitch that promises earnings of thousands of dollars a month by next week?

How many times have you clicked that “Learn more here!” button hoping to learn what the program will actually teach you just to read more about the incredible earnings you can expect?

Did you ever see an offer for an e-book that would teach you the secrets of online business for just $1?

Any of the above are sure signs of a scam. Don’t ever fall for them.

You may be wondering how they can actually work if they are such scams.

Let’s take a look.

Thousands By Next Week!

Fraud AlertWe’ve all seen this sales pitch. It’s usually a web page with a video planted right at the top. The video starts with the camera panning across the front of a big, fancy house, the 5 sports cars parked out front, then a view of people relaxing on the beach.

They tell you all about how easy their program is and how fast you can start earning money. Some say within a month. Others promise by next week. Some even promise you can make your first commission the very same day!

It sounds great, doesn’t it?

I hate to break into the dream, but it’s a lie.

Earning money online is done by building a business. And building a business takes work. You can’t just click a few buttons and start making money. You need to build your business, bring people to your business, and turn those people into customers.

It can happen.

It can’t happen overnight!

Any program that promises you money quickly (or tries to give you any time frame) is definitely a scam. No one can guarantee you when you will start earning.

I’m sure you’ve run across some of these. They all start out the same, with promises of how great their program is, how much you’ll learn, and how much money you can make.

There is absolutely no real information on what the program is, what they will teach you, or even what you will do to make the money.

But after they suck you in with all of these great promises, you can click the button and learn more about their program.

So you click the button, thinking you’ll figure out exactly what kind of business they’re going to teach you to build and what you’ll have to do, only to find…

More about how great they are and how much money you can make if you just buy the program and start today!

When you find these types of sales pitches, stay away. If they can’t at least tell you what they are going to teach you, they don’t really have anything to teach.

$1 E-book To Learn The Secrets Of Making Money Online

LyingThere are some great free e-books out there that offer a look into how to start different types of online businesses. And, yes, these are generally a “gateway” into a paid program that will teach you everything you need.

But don’t get sucked into the e-book for $1.

Why?

Because once you give them your credit card information to get that e-book for $1, they are going to keep you credit card information and start charging you their monthly membership fee that they buried somewhere in the fine print when you bought the e-book.

Surprise!

Always read the fine print.

This is what is known as “bait-and-hook”. The bait is the e-book that will unveil the secrets of earning money online. The hook is your credit card number in their system that they can charge without you realizing that you signed up for a recurring membership when you bought that e-book.

It’s sleazy, but it happens every day, and it’s a scam.

Separating The Real Opportunities From The Scams

I promise you can learn to legitimately make money online.

There are people out there who truly do want to help you achieve that goal. Just click the “Marketing Training” tab here. You’ll find a lot of information on what goes into starting an online business, with a focus on affiliate marketing.

Do I make the claim that I can teach you everything? Absolutely not. Because I can’t. I don’t have the resources, the time, or the help to build something that intensive.

But I also don’t make empty promises for quick riches without having to do anything.

I lay it out as clearly and honestly as I can. You won’t find me telling you something is easy if it isn’t, or that it will happen quickly if it won’t. I’m not the type to get your hopes up in an effort to make a quick buck for myself.

Yes, my website is a part of my business, just as your website will be part of yours.

Yes, I do make money from my website, just as you can learn to do.

No, I do not make money selling you false promises.

Take a look through my Marketing Training course. The information there will give you an idea of what goes into building an online business just like mine. You’ll see the steps you need to take and get a feel for whether or not it’s a good fit for you.

You may decide at some point in the middle of the training I offer that affiliate marketing is right for you. Great! It may take you the entire course I provide to for you to be ready to give it a try. Either way, if you want to really get into the details of building your website and online business, read my Wealthy Affiliate Review. They are the real deal, and can teach you everything you need to know to get your online business running and successful.

How can you be sure they aren’t a scam? Do you remember those three examples we used above?

The scams will try to promise you quick riches. Earning by next month, next week, or even the same day. You won’t find those promises. You’ll find the truth about working to build your business, and that there is no way to tell how long it will take. Six months is a decent benchmark to start seeing some income, but it could be sooner if you put the effort in.

The scams will continuously tell you how great they are, but won’t actually tell you what they offer until you pay. Not the case with Wealthy Affiliate. They tell you exactly what they will be teaching you, and even offer a free Starter Membership. And this isn’t some cheap starter trial where you get a teaser view. You will actually learn the steps to building an online business, and even build your own website completely free.

The scams try to rope you in with a $1 e-book and bury the recurring monthly membership fee in the fine print. Not here. You can keep your free Starter Membership as long as you want, along with 2 free websites. They make it very clear right from the start that paying monthly as a Premium Member, the cost is $49 a month. If you pay yearly, it is $359 a year (less than $1 a day to build your own business).

They lay everything out and make no empty promises.
